As event planners, we carefully plan, budget, and execute meetings and events in an industry that is forever evolving – our venues, the conference styles and themes, the audio/visual equipment we use, new activity trends, not to mention the software knowledge required for web designs, conference registrations, databases, agenda layouts, newsletters, and emails . . . then, throw social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.) into the mix and boy the learning curve is endless!

How do we stay on the forefront of this industry and deliver successful event after successful event?  Our staff takes Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) specific to our industry.

I know, I know . . . schedules are already overbooked, finding just those few extra minutes to complete a CEU or PDH course seems impossible.  So how do you find the time? Look on-line (see links below), there are several resources that provide accredited courses to learn at your own pace and on your own schedule. Even though, I begrudgingly sign up for courses, I have really found it is well worth it. It even makes me more efficient, which saves time in the long run!

Tip: Make sure you read the reviews for courses to make sure it is worth your while.

By taking these courses, you not only earn the necessary CEUs/PDHs credits to build your professional resume, but you stay up to date on all the new and innovative products and services available.  These courses provide you with knowledge, education, and the skill set needed to plan and execute an event where budgets, attendee needs, content delivery and networking objectives are met – the result: A SUCCESSFUL EVENT!

So with winter looming overhead grab a cup of hot chocolate, your computer, and curl up on the couch next to the fire and get started on those CEUs and PDHs.  By next spring you will be reaping the benefits of all your hard work with successful event after successful event.

Below are a few quick links to help you on your way to earning those CEUs and PDHs.
